Technical Lead - Solutions Division
The opportunity
This is a founding role, not a conventional team-lead position – and we’re saying that upfront because it’s the whole point.
Coltek is a growing Managed Service Provider serving businesses across South Africa, with continued global expansion. We have a pipeline of solutions work including workflow digitisation, automation, AI integration, data analytics and we’re building a new Solutions division around it. You’ll be the first dedicated hire.
That means in the early months you’ll be hands-on: designing and delivering client solutions yourself, with the backing of our existing executive team. As the project pipeline converts to revenue, you’ll hire and shape the team around you. You set the technical direction, the delivery standards, and the culture of the division you’ll end up running.
If you want to inherit a mature team and manage from a distance, this isn’t the role. If you’ve been the strongest technical person in the room and want to build something you have real ownership in, keep reading.
What you’ll be doing
- Designing, architecting, and delivering client solutions primarily on the Microsoft ecosystem (Power Platform, Dataverse, SharePoint, Graph API), often extended with Python, custom web components, and AI/LLM integrations.
- Scoping, phasing, and tracking delivery across several concurrent client engagements.
- Translating technical work into plain-language updates, risk advisories, and executive summaries for non-technical stakeholders.
- Maintaining internal systems and integrations supporting the wider business.
- Evaluating new tools and building repeatable solutions and products we can take to market.
- Hiring and leading the Solutions Team as the division grows.
What we need from day one
- Power Platform depth – Power Apps (Canvas, Power Fx), Power Automate (cloud flows, HTTP actions, connectors), Dataverse schema and security design.
- Real code ability – comfortable in Python for scripting, data processing, and building where low-code runs out; scripting for Windows admin/automation (PowerShell).
- API fluency – REST integration (Microsoft Graph, LLM providers, third-party services), JSON, auth patterns (app registrations, API keys).
- Practical AI knowledge – LLM APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI), prompt/response design, structured output, RAG concepts, and enough judgement about the risks (data handling, hallucination, permissioning) to advise clients honestly.
- Independent delivery – able to run multiple project engagements end-to-end without hand-holding.
- Client-facing communication – clear, plain-language, comfortable in front of decision-makers.
Bonus points for any of these
- PCF (React-based) component development, SharePoint Online administration, JSON column formatting
- RAG architectures and vector/knowledge stores in production
- Next.js/React or Flask experience (useful when migrating client codebases into the Microsoft ecosystem)
- MSP experience – SLA-driven, multi-client delivery
- ConnectWise RMM automation
- Azure (VMs, containers/Docker, storage) and Docker Compose
Remuneration - read this part
Because this is a founding role, we’re structuring remuneration to match: profit-share or equity participation in the division is on the table, alongside a market-related salary. IT Infrastructure Specialist
An IT Solutions company with clients based across South Africa is looking for Senior technology infrastructure specialist based or willing to relocate to Western Cape or Gauteng.
The position is a work from home/remote with travel to clients in the region when necessary.
The right person will be a team player and enjoy adding significant value to improve business processes or offering technology focused solutions.
They will join our passionate team as a solutions architect, implementor and support for new and current client infrastructure.
Sought after Technical Skills & Qualifications
- Ideally a degree or higher diploma in technology, computer science or business management
- Experience in managing or working in a team environment.
- Experience in Microsoft focused infrastructure including cloud technologies (Azure)
- Infrastructure (Server hardware, Virtualisation Technologies)
- Backup and recovery solutions including Disaster Recovery.
- IT Security (Firewalls, Routers, EDR/XDR/MDR, Software services and Security Policy, Pen Testing)
- Networking Layer 2 & 3 (troubleshooting, design, and implementation.)
- Project design and management – Contributing technically and implementing projects.
- Good documentation, report writing and project proposal skills
- Voice (Hosted PABX) troubleshooting and setup.
- Microsoft SharePoint and Teams development.
- Microsoft Power Platform (PowerApps, Power Automate and integration with SharePoint).
- Microsoft Azure AI services or similar

R30 000 – R55 000 per month, CTC
